We are honored that so many writers make Launch Pad a part of their plans, and want to outline our 2021 competition schedule to make that process as smooth as possible. Once again, we will be offering three competitions in 2021:

Launch Pad TV Pilot Competition
- Opens: Jan 13th
- Final deadline: May 7th

The Launch Pad TV Pilot Competition will open on January 13th and the submission period will run through May 7th, with our winners scheduled to be announced on October 15th.
Launch Pad Feature Competition
- Opens: April 1st
- Final deadline: July 23rd
The second competition of the year will be the Launch Pad Feature Competition, with submissions open from April 1st through July 23rd. Winners will be announced on December 8th.
Launch Pad Prose Competition
- Opens: July 1st
- Final deadline: October 29th
Our Prose Competition for books and short stories will open on July 1st and accept submissions through October 29th. Winners will be announced in 2022.
What’s new for Launch Pad Competitions in 2021?
This year we will also be adding an official announcement to the schedule for each competition. With so many excellent submissions every year, it became clear that only highlighting 100 projects for each competition left many worthy writers without recognition.
After all submissions have been read, we will announce a Second Round, reflecting the projects which are still in consideration and will receive further reads. In the past, we have informed writers of their placement in this Second Round so that they could update the draft of their projects, but we have not previously made that information public.
We will then go through our regular schedule of announcing finalists, beginning with a Top 100 and continuing on to Top 50, Top 10 and winners.
